Our Mission
E-R Music Commission promotes and supports the music industry and the development of its artists and emerging artists in the field of pop, rock, electronic, jazz, world and experimental music.
It is aimed at professionals active in the music market (new artists and bands, record labels, press offices, publishing companies, booking, promotion, concert organizations, and music production agencies) who wish to be accompanied in their path of production, distribution, and promotional development to a national and also international level.
Emilia-Romagna, along the entire route of the Via Emilia which goes from the city of Piacenza to Rimini, can count on a great number of artists, small and large music producers, labels, publishers, clubs, and festivals in a widespread manner and not only around the regional capital Bologna that is, among other things, a Unesco Creative City of Music and is therefore included by right within a global network related to Music.
The export office is the latest function added to the services run by the Music Commission in strict collaboration with ATER Fondazione.
OUR ACTIVITIES IN 2025
- PLAY WITH US AT THE 37th MERCAT DE MÚSICA VIVA DE VIC
Just one month to go until the 37th edition of the Mercat de Música Viva de Vic, taking place in Vic, Spain, from 17 to 21 September 2025.
The Mercat de Música Viva de Vic (MMVV) is a key professional hub for the music industry. The event combines a live music festival with a professional market, offering concerts open to the public across multiple stages in the city, alongside a dedicated section for industry professionals (MMVV Pro Catalan Arts!) that includes showcases, project presentations, and networking opportunities to promote the sector and support emerging artists.
Within this context, Emilia-Romagna Music Export – a project promoted by Emilia-Romagna Music Commission and ATER Fondazione to support the internationalization of the region’s music – presents showcases of two musical projects selected by MMVV’s artistic direction, perfectly embodying the idea of boundary-pushing, open-minded music capable of surprising and engaging audiences.
→ Laura Agnusdei will perform on the Jazz Cava stage on 17 September at 8:30 PM.
→ On 19 September at midnight, C’Mon Tigre will take the stage at La Carpa L’Atlàntida.
- MEET THE ITALIANS: EMILIA-ROMAGNA AND PUGLIA AT ŠIBENIK FOR THE SHIP FESTIVAL
The SHIP Music Festival will take place in Šibenik, Croatia, from 11 to 14 September 2025.
On this occasion, Emilia-Romagna Music Commission and Ater Fondazione are joining forces with Puglia Culture and Puglia Sounds to present Meet the Italians, a special event dedicated to the emerging Italian music scene.
At the heart of this initiative are two highly talented bands: Nādt Orchestra from Emilia-Romagna and Stain from Puglia, who will perform exclusive showcases in some of the festival’s most evocative venues, alongside a networking reception at the historic St. Michael’s Fortress.
- EUROPE CALLING, EMILIA-ROMAGNA ANSWERS!
September is around the corner, and in Emilia-Romagna, preparations are already underway for a month full of music and international connections. A European tour that will take the region’s music scene across borders, from showcase festivals to concerts and professional meetups, placing Emilia-Romagna at the heart of Europe’s vibrant musical landscape.
This journey is one of discovery, creativity, and dialogue. The music born in Emilia-Romagna – from clubs and independent labels to cultural collectives – is ready to take the stage at three major European events: SHIP Music Festival in Croatia, Reeperbahn Festival in Germany, and Mercat de Música Viva de Vic in Spain.
- PLAY WITH US AT REEPERBAHN: SOUNDS FROM EMILIA-ROMAGNA
Emilia-Romagna’s music scene lands in the beating heart of Hamburg with PLAY WITH US – Sounds From Emilia-Romagna, the showcase that on Thursday, September 18, will bring the best of the regional independent scene to the Sommer Salon stage, as part of Reeperbahn Festival 2025.
Promoted by Emilia-Romagna Music Export – the project by Emilia-Romagna Music Commission and ATER Fondazione to support the internationalization of regional music -, the event shines a spotlight on four projects that, each in their own way, express the vitality of a land that has always been a crossroads of sounds, ideas, and experimentation: from the retro-futurist psychedelic riffs of Korobu (Locomotiv Records) to the refined art pop of Gaia Banfi (Trovarobato), through the cosmic folk of James Jonathan Clancy (Maple Death Records), and the electro-punk energy of R.Y.F. (Bronson Recordings).
