Europe calling, Emilia-Romagna answers!
In September, PLAY WITH US at SHIP Music Festival, Reeperbahn Festival, Mercat de Música Viva de Vic
September is around the corner, and in Emilia-Romagna, preparations are already underway for a month full of music and international connections. A European tour that will take the region’s music scene across borders, from showcase festivals to concerts and professional meetups, placing Emilia-Romagna at the heart of Europe’s vibrant musical landscape.
This journey is one of discovery, creativity, and dialogue. The music born in Emilia-Romagna – from clubs and independent labels to cultural collectives – is ready to take the stage at three major European events: SHIP Music Festival in Croatia, Reeperbahn Festival in Germany, and Mercat de Música Viva de Vic in Spain.
It all begins in Šibenik, Croatia, where the SHIP Music Festival will take place from 11 to 14 September. Set in stunning venues like St. Michael’s Fortress, the event blends concerts, panels and workshops with a focus on emerging European music. Emilia-Romagna will be present on Saturday 13 September with a networking aperitivo organized in partnership with Puglia Culture-Puglia Sounds, followed by a showcase by the NADt Orchestra (Locomotiv Records), a project combining orchestral composition and electronic experimentation.
Next stop: Hamburg, from 17 to 20 September, where the Reeperbahn Festival turns the city into a music capital. On 18 September, at the iconic Sommer Salon, PLAY WITH US – Sounds from Emilia-Romagna will showcase four unique artists: the retro-futurist sounds of Korobu (Locomotiv Records), the bold electro-punk of R.Y.F. (Bronson Recordings), the refined art pop of Gaia Banfi (Trovarobato), and the cosmic folk of James Jonathan Clancy (Maple Death Records). A diverse lineup that reflects the region’s creative energy and cultural depth.
The journey will end in Vic, Spain, from 17 to 21 September, at the Mercat de Música Viva de Vic (MMVV). This event is a key professional and artistic platform in southern Europe. Representing Emilia-Romagna will be two outstanding acts: Laura Agnusdei, saxophonist and electroacoustic composer, performing on 17 September, and C’mon Tigre, an eclectic and magnetic collective blending African jazz, electronica, and Mediterranean rhythms, performing on the 19th.
Three countries, three festivals, and one shared vision: to amplify the voice of a region that has always embraced creativity, experimentation, and dialogue.
Thanks to Emilia-Romagna Music Export – a project by Emilia-Romagna Music Commission and ATER Fondazione to support the internationalization of regional music – the sound of the region continues to resonate across Europe.
