MEET THE ITALIANS: EMILIA-ROMAGNA AND PUGLIA AT ŠIBENIK FOR THE SHIP FESTIVAL
Showcases by Nādt Orchestra and Stain, plus a networking reception at St. Michael’s Fortress
Exactly one month to go until the SHIP Music Festival, taking place in Šibenik, Croatia, from 11 to 14 September 2025.
On this occasion, Emilia-Romagna Music Commission and Ater Fondazione are joining forces with Puglia Culture and Puglia Sounds to present Meet the Italians, a special event dedicated to the emerging Italian music scene.
At the heart of this initiative are two highly talented bands: Nādt Orchestra from Emilia-Romagna and Stain from Puglia, who will perform exclusive showcases in some of the festival’s most evocative venues, alongside a networking reception at the historic St. Michael’s Fortress.
Nādt Orchestra, founded in Bologna in 2020, is a collective of eight young musicians combining jazz, African, Central American, and Middle Eastern musical traditions with electronic experimentation, creating a contemporary and multifaceted sonic language. Under the guidance of guitarist Domenico Romano, the band released their debut album Dualism (Locomotiv Records, 2024), produced by the award-winning Tommaso Colliva (Muse, Calibro 35). The album is a hypnotic journey exploring the duality between tradition and innovation, light and shadow, energy and melancholy, also featuring prominent contemporary jazz artists such as Gianluca Petrella and Pasquale Mirra.
The name Nādt comes from a Sanskrit concept related to vital energy, perfectly describing their music, which flows with intensity and vibrancy.
Joining them, Stain represents Puglia with a unique style, ready to showcase the best of Southern Italy’s music scene.
Stain will perform on Friday, 12 September at 1:00 AM at Azimut, while Nādt will take the stage on Saturday, 13 September at 7:00 PM at St. Michael’s Fortress, immediately following the networking reception.
The collaboration between Emilia-Romagna Music Commission and Ater Fondazione, together with Puglia Culture and Puglia Sounds in Šibenik, highlights the importance of creating synergies between different Italian regions, promoting the richness and diversity of the national emerging music scene abroad. Meet the Italians aims to be a moment of exchange and dialogue among artists, industry professionals, and international audiences, showcasing Italian music in a high-profile European context.
