PLAY WITH US AT THE 37th MERCAT DE MÚSICA VIVA DE VIC
Featuring showcases by Laura Agnusdei (17 September) and C’Mon Tigre (19 September)
Just one month to go until the 37th edition of the Mercat de Música Viva de Vic, taking place in Vic, Spain, from 17 to 21 September 2025.
The Mercat de Música Viva de Vic (MMVV) is a key professional hub for the music industry. The event combines a live music festival with a professional market, offering concerts open to the public across multiple stages in the city, alongside a dedicated section for industry professionals (MMVV Pro Catalan Arts!) that includes showcases, project presentations, and networking opportunities to promote the sector and support emerging artists.
For four days, the city of Vic transforms into a vibrant center of musical activity, offering the best of a festival within a market context. Its multi-genre character ensures wide musical diversity, making it a truly unique event.
Within this context, Emilia-Romagna Music Export – a project promoted by Emilia-Romagna Music Commission and ATER Fondazione to support the internationalization of the region’s music – presents showcases of two musical projects selected by MMVV’s artistic direction, perfectly embodying the idea of boundary-pushing, open-minded music capable of surprising and engaging audiences.
Laura Agnusdei will perform on the Jazz Cava stage on 17 September at 8:30 PM.
Laura Agnusdei is a saxophonist, composer, electronic musician, and improviser. Her solo project explores the possibilities of electroacoustic composition, with the saxophone as the main narrative thread. Her music, released by labels such as The Wormhole, The Tapeworm, and Maple Death Records, weaves melody, timbral research, fragmentary song forms, and improvisation, drawing from a wide range of sonic sources. In January of this year, also thanks to support from the regional music law, she released her latest album Flowers are Blooming in Antarctica via Maple Death Records as part of the creative project OPALE. Musiche, visioni, segni, curated by Maple Death and Canicola.
On 19 September at midnight, C’Mon Tigre will take the stage at La Carpa L’Atlàntida.
According to MMVV’s website: born in the Mediterranean basin and open to the pulse of major metropolises, C’Mon Tigre is a plural project: two individuals, but also a collective of souls. Through their music, they express a deep fascination with Africa, tracing a sinuous path from San Diego to Bombay. Their sound draws on the rhythms of Brazilian traditions – samba, forró – and instruments and meters evoking southern landscapes. At the same time, they maintain the influence of electronic music and African jazz that has shaped their journey. A unique, boundary-free project, magnetic and brimming with identity and imagination.
Thanks to support from the regional music law, since 2021 C’Mon Tigre has released, as part of their creative project: Scenario (Intersuoni / Puzzle Puzzle / Believe – 2022); Habitat (Intersuoni / Puzzle Puzzle / Believe – 2023); INSTRUMENTAL ENSEMBLE – Soundtrack For Imaginary Movie Vol 1 (CMT / Open Event srl / Believe – 2024).
